Publication Ethics
Journal of Education Technology & Innovation (JETI)
The Journal of Education Technology & Innovation (JETI) is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal applies a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of publication malpractice and adheres strictly to the ethical principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), in alignment with the requirements of DOAJ and Scopus.
JETI takes all reasonable measures to prevent, detect, and address ethical misconduct, including but not limited to plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, citation manipulation, unethical research practices, and undisclosed conflicts of interest. By submitting a manuscript to JETI, authors confirm that their work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere in any form or language.
Editorial Responsibility and Ethical Oversight
The Editorial Board of JETI bears primary responsibility for safeguarding the integrity of the scholarly record. To fulfill this responsibility, JETI adopts and implements:
- COPE Core Practices
- COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors
- COPE Flowcharts for handling ethical issues and allegations of misconduct
All editors, reviewers, and authors involved in the publication process are required to comply with these standards. Ethical concerns are handled through transparent, fair, and timely procedures, and corrective actions—including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern—are taken when necessary.
A. Publication and Authorship
- All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process involving at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
- Manuscripts are evaluated based on relevance, originality, methodological soundness, significance, clarity, and language quality.
- Editorial decisions include: acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
- A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance of the revised manuscript.
- Rejected manuscripts will not be reconsidered.
- Manuscript acceptance is subject to compliance with applicable legal requirements, including those related to copyright, libel, and plagiarism.
- A manuscript, in whole or in part, must not be published in more than one journal.
B. Authors Responsibilities
Authors submitting manuscripts to JETI are expected to adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:
- Ensure that the manuscript is original work and properly cites all sources used.
- Confirm that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under review elsewhere.
- Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.
- Accurately present research data and confirm that all data are real, authentic, and verifiable.
- Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
- Identify all funding sources supporting the research.
- Cooperate fully in the peer review process.
- Promptly notify the editors of any significant errors discovered after publication and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions when required.
C. Reviewers Responsibilities
Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality and integrity of published research and are expected to:
- Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Conduct reviews objectively and constructively, without personal criticism.
- Provide clear, reasoned, and evidence-based feedback.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
- Notify the editors of any substantial similarity or overlap with other published works.
- Decline review invitations if any conflict of interest exists due to personal, professional, or institutional relationships.
D. Editors’ Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair and ethical editorial process and are expected to:
- Make publication decisions based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Ensure the confidentiality of reviewers’ identities.
- Uphold the integrity and quality of the academic record.
- Publish corrections, retractions, or clarifications when necessary.
- Act on suspected ethical misconduct for both published and unpublished manuscripts, following COPE guidelines.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and ensure that editorial decisions are free from commercial or personal influence.
- Not reverse editorial decisions without compelling and well-documented reasons.
Ethical Compliance Statement
JETI is committed to ethical publishing practices and transparency in all aspects of its operations. The journal continuously reviews and updates its policies to remain aligned with international ethical standards and indexing requirements. Further guidance on publication ethics can be found at the COPE official website.
