Peer Review Process

Al-Biruni: Journal of Mathematics and Mathematics Education (AMEJ) uses a double-blind, peer-reviewed system to ensure the quality and credibility of all published papers.

  1. Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the Online Journal System (OJS) or temporarily by email.

  2. Initial Editorial Check
The editor reviews the paper for fit with the journal’s scope, structure, and minimum quality standards. All manuscripts that pass this stage are checked for plagiarism using iThenticate.

  3. Editor-in-Chief Assessment
The Editor-in-Chief evaluates originality, significance, and suitability. Papers may be rejected at this stage.

  4. Reviewer Invitation
Qualified reviewers with relevant expertise are invited. Al-Biruni: Journal of Mathematics and Mathematics Education (AMEJ) uses a double-blind system where authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

  5. Reviewer Response
Reviewers accept or decline based on expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability.

  6. Review Process
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and submit a recommendation: accept, reject, or request major/minor revisions.

  7. Editorial Evaluation
The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor assess all reviews. A third reviewer may be invited if reviews conflict.

  8. Decision Notification
The editor sends the decision and anonymous reviewer comments to the author.

  9. Final Stage
Accepted papers move to production. For revisions, authors must resubmit with a checklist detailing corrections. Revised papers may undergo re-review. Once approved, the paper is published online as a downloadable PDF.
