Abstract

Matematika digunakan dalam kegiatan budaya masyarakat tradisional dan non-tradisional. Etnomatematika mengacu pada ide-ide matematika yang diintegrasikan ke dalam suatu budaya. Budaya tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai upaya transformasi untuk mengeksplorasi konsep-konsep matematika guna mendekatkan matematika pada realitas dan pemahaman masyarakatnya. Selain itu, budaya dapat digunakan sebagai landasan matematika sekolah. Penelitian ini menyelidiki etnomatematika sebagai ilustrasi konteks penerapan geometri pada permainan kelereng. Data dikumpulkan melalui praktik bermain kelereng dan wawancara, serta catatan tentang hasil permainan dan analisisnya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi, data dikurangi, disajikan, dan dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan kelereng tradisional memiliki unsur-unsur etnomatematika yang berkaitan dengan konsep-konsep matematika, termasuk konsep geometri yang dapat diwakili dalam bentuk bangun sisi datar seperti lingkaran dan segiempat. Ide-ide matematika ini dapat digunakan dalam budaya lokal untuk memperkenalkan dan memahami konsep geometri dan jarak. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan berbagai hasil berpikir kreatif matematika. Kearifan lokal Indonesia dapat dikomunikasikan melalui permainan kelereng dan digunakan sebagai sumber matematika kontekstual di sekolah pedesaan dan perkotaan.
